Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ljubljana

Arrea / 2019
LOCATION: Vojkova cesta 74, Ljubljana

The project aimed to provide new classrooms for the school and kindergarden of the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Ljubljana. The intervention is designed with the intention of positioning the classrooms as close as possible to the central lobby. The architectural language follows the logic of the existing complex to mantain its clear readability. The additions are made of solid wood construction, which allows static stability of the building after renovation. Exposed wooden construction elements, wooden windows and doors create a  natural interior atmosphere. With its brick facade the building blends in with its urban surroundings.
