The Pipanova housing units block was built according to minimal living space standards by the Municipality of Ljubljana to serve as temporary housing solution. This energy-efficient block of flats follows the height of the surrounding suburban family homes; its usable surface is enlarged with the partly-buried, naturally ventilated and lighted residential basement. The building owes its specific character to the wrought iron window fence that protects the balconies. The temporary housing units block is a sustainable building with excellent insulation, passive use of solar energy and a small photovoltaic power station on the top of its flat roof.
