At the time of its construction, University Medical Centre of Ljubljana was the largest and the most modern health centre in Yugoslavia. Its concept was based on the complex needs of health services, both in terms of function and contents. The surrounding buildings had to be considered as well. Architect Stanko Kristl designed the complex in pursuit of the patients’ wellbeing withing the strict standards of hygiene and functionality. (Source: Architectural Guide, arhitekturni-vodnik.org)
