"Step closer" beehive

Miha Dešman, Sara Slivnik, Vlatka Ljubanović, Staša Gašić, Marisa Grnjak, Ines Hidič, Teja Kralj, Bernarda Rijavec, Gorazd Trušnovec / 2017
LOCATION: Ižanska cesta 15, Ljubljana

The building is part of the Bee trail project, which connects all urban beekeeping points in Ljubljana.
The beehive has two main parts, one for visitors and the other one for bees and the beekeeper. The two spaces are divided with glass which allows the visitors to take a closer look at the life inside a beehive, without getting stung. The construction is made of larch wood and stands on a concrete foundation. There are wooden slates on the inside of the construction so that the rhythm of the columns is still visible from the outside.
