House A

Damjana Hudnik Zaviršek, Robert Mašera, Hudnik Zaviršek arhitektka / 2009

The house takes full advantage of the natural features of the site (slope, stream, large plot, views to nature, access to the lawn from all floors, passive solar energy). It is a combination of two perpendicular elongated blocks. The ground floor is parallel to the ground and has green roof. The first floor with a gable roof is perpendicular to the ground floor and extends across it with a console. Under the console there is an entrance and a covered terrace. The house has exits on the lawn from the ground floor and the first floor. The terrace allows the owners to spend a large part of the day outdoors in all seasons. It serves as a living and dining room, a space for garden parties or a playground in bad weather.
