Apartment for a couple in their mature years

M atelje / 2020

The couple in their mature years decided to renovate their apartment and in this way enable themselves to continue their stay as comfortably as possible. The owners were keen to keep the program shared, but there was a weighty consideration of what to keep and what not. In addition to the modern design of the equipment, the biggest intervention took place between the living room and the dining room, which were combined with the demolition of the partition wall. In the studio, they were aware that this could completely lose the spirit of the past, so they placed a transparent bookcase instead of a wall, which only seemingly separates the two spaces. The apartment underwent more thorough changes in the sanitary facilities, where they acquired an additional wellness area with a hot tub and sauna. In the use and placement of materials and colors, they strived for a modern and more mature concept, but the intention was to preserve and further improve the brightness of the entire ambience.
