Renovation of an attic flat in Ljubljana

Katja Pernar, Petra Peterka / 2016

The first task of transformation of this attic flat was to invite the light in and to infuse the home with its owner’s soul.
The existing flat was scarcely lit. On request of the owner the architects carefully chose and installed new lights. The dark pieces of furniture were removed and the yellow parquet polished. Storage areas were hidden behind white built-in closets. Designer pieces of furniture came into the foreground, as well as illuminated wooden niches with art pieces. The space, which was well lit through the roof windows, was cooled down with selected colors.
