Renovation of attic apartment in a villa by Lake Bled

Boštjan Gabrijelčič / 2014

The attic holiday apartment has a cross-shaped ground plan, which leaves the central part without daylight, while each of the four sections offers stunning mountain views. The main architectural challenge was to take maximum advantage of the ceiling height as the apartment, while rather spacious, has a reduced volume due to the attic roof. The other task of the architect was to allow sufficient light into the central space. Both were achieved by opening up the spaces and installing a 12-meter long light, which can be lit by sections. The leading colour is white, which lights and visually widens the interior. Oakwood furniture details add an alpine atmosphere to the flat.
