Piran municipal gallery renovation
Boris Podrecca / 2012
The Piran Municipal Gallery is one of the main exhibition spaces on the Slovenian coast. The purpose of the reconstruction is the preservation this cultural monument, a classicist palace from the early 19th century, consolidation of the heavily fractured building, upgrading of the gallery with additional space, at the expense of previously poorly utilized attic, and maintaining an urban cafe. The gallery is designed as a two-story open space with arched ceilings. A new central staircase connects the whole building.
