Črnomelj City Museum exhibition installation

Atelje Ostan Pavlin / 2013

Črnomelj, a town with an exceptional strategic location, displays its history in Miran Jarc’s birthplace in the center of the old town. The 19th century villa has been renovated to host the prehistoric and antique exhibits on the ground floor, middle ages and part of the modern age on the first floor, and the 19th and 20th centuries in the newly renovated attic. The simple design of the exhibition required no intervention in the original building. The exhibits are placed away from the walls to allow a view of the old paintings. The design directs visitors through the exhibition, as well as through the building and different time periods.
