Farewell chapel in Šembije

3b arhitekti d.o.o. / 2018
LOCATION: Pokopališče v Šembijah

The farewell chapel in Šembije is an example of combining tradition, landscape and architecture into a new spatial structure. On the Karst edge, at the edge of the village, on the horizon plain, the area speaks of transience, fascinates with a strong architectural tone. The authors designed an entrance area that redefines the entrance to the existing cemetery, an elongated chapel with a cutout, and selected all materials according to their textures.
Architecture itself seems simple but also eternal, thanks to clear lines and unambiguous concept.
