Monstera bistro
Maja Stamenković, Zala Peršin / 2016
LOCATION: Gosposka 9, Ljubljana
This contemporary designed bistro is located on the ground floor of a listed building. Its underlying theme is the monstera deliciosa plant, which is reproduced in the design of a metal construction, in the lights, in the ceramic tiles in the toilets and in various shades of green throughout the premises. The old and the new elements complement each other: the marble floor includes cement traces of the original layout, the brick wall preserves the 1897 floral paintings, while the entrance was added a new glazed partition. The main theme of the renovation was to achieve communication between the space, the guests and the food offered.
