Wooden low-energy kindergarten Šentrupert

David Tušar / 2010

The kindergarten in Šentrupert is one of the few public facilities in Slovenia based on sustainable design. It is energy efficient and environmentally friendly, employing natural materials, especially wood. It uses local renewable resources – wood chips – for heating. The architectural design with glass surfaces contributes to the energy balance of the building. The entire architectural design is subordinated to the comfort of the users in all seasons and in all weather conditions.
