The sculptors' studios

Vinko Glanz /

The four sculptors’ studios and four painters’ studios were built in the 1950s by the architect Vinko Glanz as master workshops of the Academy of Arts professors. They meet all the artists’ requirements, such as northern exposure, overhead light, clay containers, plaster equipment and access for material delivery. Some of Slovenian top artists have used the studios in the past, among them Gabrijel Stupica, Marij Pregelj, Maksim Sedej, Karel Putrih, Frančišek Smerdu, and Zdenko Kalin. Now, they are used by Stojan Batič, Drago Tršar, Matjaž Počivavšek, Jana Vizjak, Zdenko Huzjan, Dušan Kirbiš, Štefan Planinc and students of Department of Art Restoration of the Academy of Arts and Design.
