Hotel Jelka Pokljuka

Metka Černe, Janko Rožič / 2013

The renovation of this tourist accommodation unit into a hotel was based on sustainable development criteria, contemporary architectural knowledge and old building wisdom. Natural materials were preferred, so the ground floor is partially covered in stone, the upper floor and the annex feature larch wood coating. Simple shapes, derived from old, well-tested patterns, are intertwined. The facade coating also serves as balcony railing, which adds uniformity and allows the light to shine through as in a forest.
