House with a bridge

Boštjan Debelak / 2007

A special feature of this home is a bridge between the house and a nearby forest. The bridge also doubles as a bedroom window grate. Clay plasters on walls and ceilings add to pleasant indoor conditions, while floors and fixtures are made of more than 30 different types of wood. There are two studies on the gallery above the living room, which can be closed alternately by a one-tonne sliding wall acting as a heat collector and a bookshelf. The outside wooden walls are not painted, which allows for natural ageing.
