Hospice House
Dans arhitekti / 2010
The Hospice building is squeezed between the steep slope of the Golovec hill and a busy road. Its almost square-shaped layout has a central communication core. All of the rooms – those for residents, employees, visitors and conference rooms – are arranged around the perimeter and have large, full-length windows offering beautiful views. The staircase surrounds the core so as to open different perspectives with different daylight on each floor. It is a building with a strong identity conveying a feeling of safety; in the architects’ words – like a big traditional farmhouse stove.
