Expano - Gateway to Pomurje

SoNo arhitekti, AU arhitekti / 2019
LOCATION: Bakovska ulica 41, Murska Sobota

Originally designed to represent Slovenia’s mountain silhouette and the country’s diversity for the EXPO 2015 in Milan, the reconstructed pavilion now serves as a “Gateway to the Pomurje Region” in Murska Sobota. The Expano pavilion is comprised of four main segments with different purpose and content. There is an exhibition area, TIC (info center), a bar and a shop offering local Pomurje products. The timber skeleton construction is supplemented by loadbearing elements made of cross-laminated timber.
