Plečnik’s Ljubljana – urban design on a human scale

/ 2021

The architectural walk around Plečnik’s Ljubljana will present the architect’s heritage in the context of the recent inclusion of his works in UNESCO World Heritage List. We will observe how the architect designed the city on a human scale and, in each intervention, took into account the existing space and enriched it with new motifs, buildings and functions; how he reinterpreted and developed the city into a series of public spaces, how he respected the features of the old town centre and accentuated them with major or minor corrections.

The walk will be led by Tomaž Štoka, Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO).
