CHAPEL IN BUKOVICA

Studio Bonutti / 2016
LOCATION: cemetery Bukovica, Volčja Draga

The chapel is designed in brick rectangular walls. Sheltered by walls with a covered roof that serve as an anti-camera by creating a feeling of intimacy throughout the whole complex. A cleared section is used to enter the area of the central hall with rigid but simple construction, yet with details brought to a high level of perfection. A shorter wall was built like a brick curtain to offer a view of the hay sheds typical of the villages of the Slovenian littoral as a remembrance of the transition from one world to another.
