Alpine Hotel Celjska Koca
ARK Arhitektura Krušec d.o.o. / 2007
The new Alpine hotel set on an exposed natural plateau above the city of Celje is a unique dominant in the mountain landscape. The shape of the building with a sun terrace on one side takes into account the steep slope that allows unhindered panoramic view over the valley. Preserving the view guided the design of the interior spaces. The design of the façade follows the principles of construction applied in Slovene barns and hayracks, featuring a double facade with an outer transparent layer of horizontal laths made of untreated larch wood.
