Bivouac under Grintavec

Miha Kajzelj / 2009

The bivouac shelter is located in the Kamnik Alps on Veliki podi under Mt. Grintovec on a mountain plateau 2080 m above sea level, serving as a landmark in the vast karst landscape. The bivouac is open non-stop and provides shelter for mountaineers free of charge. All of the requirements of Alpine construction were incorporated into the design – good insulation, minimum intervention into the landscape and minimal weight of the structure that was transported to its site by helicopter.
