Apartment Levstik
Ana Gruden / 2017
This apartment in a historic building in the old town of Ljubljana clearly shows respect for the past, while addressing all modern dwelling needs. Light seems to guide a visitor through the sequence of spaces, the kitchen and dining room being the centre of the new design. The former kitchen has been converted into a bedroom with an adjacent bathroom. A guest bathroom has replaced an old pantry. The upper part of the wall between the bathrooms is made of glass blocks.
To allow easy access and more natural light, the wall between the entrance corridor and the living room was removed. A special feature of the apartment is a vaulted brick wall in the corridor, reminiscent of the historical period the building originates from.
