Offices of Football Association of Slovenia

ARK Arhitektura Krušec d.o.o. / 2015
LOCATION: Predoslje 40a, Kranj

Management offices of the Slovenian Football Association fully respect the location of the previous building on the site. The new building is a separate volume with its whiteness clearly defining the limit between nature’s work and human creation. Views of the surroundings are an important feature of this building with its articulated layout. The floors are U-shaped and the ground floor opens toward hayracks and sports grounds, while the first floor is rotated towards the mountains. The centre of rotation is an atrium, dominated by three fruit trees. The atrium is also the main attraction for the visitors. The facade combines horizontal concrete geometry and vertical glass surfaces. The construction features a 3 m high Vierendeel truss. The location of window openings contributes to a seemingly random composition of the facade, which is a continuation of the rhythm created by the trees in the nearby forest.
