TRIPLE WOOD – Sustainable Building Culture in the Alpine Region
Wood has been a traditional construction material in the Alpine region for centuries, but its various advantages have never been more important than now. As a sustainable and locally available resource, the use of wood is a climate-friendly alternative which also supports the local economy, helps cut costs and time in construction, features excellent energy efficiency, makes for an enjoyable and comfortable living environment, and fosters a sense of regional identity. The Triple Wood project aims to promote a sustainable wooden building culture in the Alpine macroregion through a series of promotional road show events featuring a traveling exhibition with examples of quality wood building in the Alpine space, a seminar for architects and a website. The project is co-financed by the EU Alpine Region Preparatory Action Funds – ARPAF and the Forest Fund at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia.
